Root vegetable puree experiment day 2: Rutabaga


Tastes a lot more potatoey than celery root. Has a natural sweetness much like potatoes. But texture is more watery like pudding rather than fluffy and creamy like the celery root was. Color is yellowy too (but that may have been just my rutabaga).

Root vegetable puree experiment day 1: Celery root


Surprisingly good. Very creamy and has a lot of nice flavor on its own. Celery root puree seems like a keeper.

Yesterday's pancake discussion made me want it.
Chicken curry and the radish tops from breakfast that didn't taste too hot when raw.







Split everything in half with Donna. Radishes and butter is the new "in" food so why not with sunbutter? Think I liked it better with the sunbutter.

2 turkey burgers from Wing O' Flavor on homemade salad. I love that place when I need take out.







Asian chicken stir fry bowl from Protein Bar in the Loop. Got all veggies instead of quinoa. Will try to eat around the beans and canned teriyaki sauce.

Have you tried dipping apple slices in sunbutter? Cause you should. It tastes like caramel apple!

Almond meal crab cakes, rutabaga-parsnip puree, fried zucchini and yellow squash.


The puree has a lot more raw-rutabaganess in it than I would like. Don't know how the chef from the farmers market did it so nice. It might just be undercooked. Shoulda looked up a proper recipe before trying.

Kamehachi dinner. Everything was split with Donna so only ate half what you see.



Seaweed salad.



Asparagus wrapped in beef. Scraped off as much of that teriyaki as we could. It tasted so sweet to us now that we've cut out so much sugars.


Chicken yakitori.


Sashimi. Did have some soy sauce. No rice.




Butternut squash soup and ratatouille meat sauce with spaghetti carrots and zucchini.
